Anthem of the Seas barely passes USPH inspection

Jan 08, 2018

The cruise ship Anthem of the Seas barely passed the recent USPH Inspection. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Inspectors boarded the vessel on January 2, at Port Canaveral, Florida, and found several violations. The ship was eventually given 86 points which is only one point of failing the inspection (an 85 or lower score on the CDC's 100-point inspection scale is considered failing grade). The official score and corrective report are expected to be released on the CDC website in the following weeks. Anthem of the Seas departed from Cape Liberty, New Jersey on 30 December on an 8-Night Bahamas New Year Holiday Cruise, with the first stop to Port Canaveral before reaching Nassau, and Coco Cay.

This is not the first time Anthem of the Seas to receive 86 points. In June 2016 the ship was given the same grade after inspectors found numerous, serious food safety violations in Room Service, Galley, Buffet Area and the potable water system. Since then ship’s crew managed to correct the violations and received high 97 points score in May and August 2017.
