The company marked the official start of construction by cutting the first piece of steel for its new Quantum Ultra class ship. The next generation engineering marvel in the Royal Caribbean fleet will officially be named Spectrum of the Seas.

Zero alcohol policy for all no discrimination. This comment on the social media by Costa Cruises Chief Electrical Engineer Roberto Pibiri sparked huge debate between crew and officers. As of August 19th, Costa Cruises will implement zero tolerance alcohol policy for employees working in the engine department, bridge officers, medical and deck department. This means that they are not allowed have alcohol in the crew bar, disco or any bars aboard the ship.

Whale Found Dead on Princess Cruise Ship Bow in Alaska

Princess Cruises vessel sailing through Southeast Alaska’s Inside Passage hit a whale that was lodged on the bow. The dead whale was removed after the cruise ship docked in Ketchikan on Wednesday morning, and towed to a nearby beach for Necropsy.

A crew member died onboard Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas on July 30, 2017. Fellow crew member send to Crew Center the obituary to inform people of the passing of Naville Fernandes, from Goa, India. The sad news with the obituary was shared in the local newspaper in Goa. The death announcement says “Naville Fernandes -–Liberty (RCCL) expired onboard the ship. Funeral announcement will be made later”
