Pay Rises for Norwegian Cruise Line Crew in 2020

Norwegian Seafarers' Union (NSU) has negotiated pay increases for all crew working onboard Norwegian Cruise Line ships for 2020. NSU, representing seafarers around the world reports that this is a successful outcome to their bargaining agreement with NCL.

 “Salary increases usually happen annually following negotiations with the companies we have agreements with.” Says the Union

61 coronavirus cases confirmed on Diamond Princess

Japan’s Ministry of Health has announced today an additional 41 people onboard Diamond Princes tested positive for Coronavirus, bringing the total numbers of infected to 61. Many ambulance vehicles lined up in front of the Diamond Princess to transport the patients for further medical treatment in Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba, Kanagawa and Shizuoka as the ship entered the third day in quarantine at the Port of Yokohama.

MSC Splendida to Keep the Chinese Crew Onboard

Japan health officials announced today 10 additional people have tested positive for Coronavirus on the cruise ship Diamond Princess, rising the number of confirmed cases to 20. The infected individuals have been informed they have the virus and were already transported ashore for further treatment and observation by medical staff.

Vaccination on a massive scale is currently underway at the  Marseilles shipyard (Chantier naval de Marseille) after 16 cases of pneumococcal infection were reported on people working on the refurbishment of the cruise ship Norwegian Spirit. The ship owned by Norwegian Cruise Line is currently in Dry dock number 10 at the port of Marseille, the largest in the Mediterranean and the third biggest in the world.
