Update on Carnival Glory Itinerary Following the Accident in Cozumel

After the collision of Carnival Legend and Carnival Glory in Cozumel, Carnival Cruise Line has sent out a letter to passengers who are scheduled to board Carnival Glory tomorrow in New Orleans. The voyage will not be canceled instead will leave the port of New Orleans a few hours later than originally scheduled.

Two Carnival Cruise Ships Collide In Cozumel

Two Carnival cruise ships have crashed into each other today in the port of Cozumel, Mexico around 8.30 am local time. The incident happen during maneuvering procedure performed by the cruise ship Carnival Glory while the vessel was docking when it struck the Carnival Legend, which was already moored behind it.

Carnival Cruise Line latest XL-class cruise ship Mardi Gras delivery will be delayed, the cruise company announced today. The news was announced after officials at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland informed Carnival that there is a delay in the production schedule.  Instead of the originally planned schedule in August, the vessel will be delivered in late October 2020.

Costa Smeralda Cancels Stop in Marseille

Following the protests in France, the cruise ship Costa Smeralda has canceled its scheduled arrival in Marseille. Instead, the first LNG powered cruise ship for Costa Cruises will sail directly to Italy. During her inaugural voyage, the ship departed from the Finnish shipyard Meyer Turku on December 5. The first stop was in Barcelona where the ship refueled its LNG tanks and was presented to the Spanish market in a grand ceremony.

Costa Smeralda joins Costa Cruises fleet

The Italian cruise line Costa Cruises took delivery of the cruise ship Costa Smeralda, a new flagship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the fossil fuel with low environmental impact that represents a real novelty in the cruise sector. The delivery ceremony took place at the Meyer shipyard in Turku (Finland), where the ship was built. Costa Smeralda is the first ship of the Costa fleet to use liquefied natural gas both in port and at sea.
