Silversea crew questions the difference in pay for same position

Silversea’s crew members have presented concerns to Crew Center related to the despair between pay for the same positions. Silversea is a company which operates under Royal Caribbean Group, as a company has a long-standing consideration and business model that incorporates its crew members as they do generally understand the great importance of well trained, consistent, loyal and hardworking crew. And while Silversea does operate under RCCL, their policies can differ.

Holland America Line Celebrates One Year Back to Cruising

Holland America Line guests and team members celebrated a major milestone this weekend, marking one full year of returning to sailing after the cruise industry was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nieuw Amsterdam was the first ship back on the line, resuming her cruise on July 24, 2021 in Seattle, Washington. The ship reached the one-year mark while in port in Wither, Alaska.

Tradewind cancels cruises due to sanctions on Russian creditor

Tradewind Voyages has suspended sailings until October as it continues to "restructure its operations and financing" after sanctions were imposed on its main lender, Russia-based bank VTB Germany. The tall ship line suspended cruise sales last month and warned the trade and passengers to "expect" cruise cancellations.

AIDA Cruises has started using biofuels as part of its strategy to reduce CO2 emissions. On July 21, 2022, AIDAprima, a Hyperion-class cruise ship, was loaded with GoodFuels' sustainable biofuel during a port visit to Rotterdam, Netherlands. The trial took place while the ship was on a seven-day cruise, visiting Hamburg, Southampton, Havre and Zeebrugge.
