Costa Deliziosa crew member lost at sea after falling overboard

A crew member went overboard in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean from the Costa Deliziosa cruise ship around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March, 29. The ship was on repositioning cruise from North America to Europe when a terrible tragedy occurred on the eleventh day of the voyage. The sad news was first reported by Cruise Law News.

According to the reports, the search for the missing crew member was initiated at 11:00 a.m. when the ship turned back to retrace its route. Costa Deliziosa crew searched for the missing person for ten hours without success, when the search was called off at around 9:30 p.m. One crew member on board Costa Deliziosa said that the missing crew member was Indian national working in the Housekeeping Department.

After five days at sea, Costa Deliziosa is expected to arrive in Tenerife, the Canary Islands on March 31, with one crew member missing. Our thoughts and prayers go to the crew member family all his friends and co-workers.
