Royal Caribbean Humanitarian Efforts in the Caribbean by the Numbers

Leading the way in hurricane relief efforts in the Caribbean, Royal Caribbean released the official numbers of delivered aid and evacuation of people on their cruise ships.In total Royal Caribbean evacuated 5,507 people and 122 pets on cruise ships from the affected islands. The company also evacuated some 2,700 HQ employees and their families on Enchantment of the Seas before Hurricane Irma hit Miami.

  • Royal Caribbean delivered the following humanitarian aid to the Caribbean:
  • 25 pallets of medical supplies
  • 30,637 gallons of water
  • 9,355 gallons of milk
  • 8,000 pounds of ice
  • 13,050 pet food
  • 110,500 garbage bags
  • 4,200 rolls of toilet paper
  • 30,504 batteries
  • 450 generators

Following the arrival of Adventure of the Seas at Port Everglades, with 3,800 hurricane evacuees from the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico RCI President and CEO Michael Bayley said “Today was inspirational. Witnessing evacuees from Puerto Rico, St. Croix, St. Thomas, and their pets all debarking Adventure of the Seas at Port Everglades is a moment I’ll never forget. Families and friends were reunited, and all evacuees are headed to different parts of the country as their homes rebuilt. It gives me an enormous sense of pride to see the efforts that nearly 4,000 of our colleagues have contributed to this cause, and I thank each and every one of them for their dedication.”
