Royal Caribbean Suspends US Cruises for 30 days

Mar 13, 2020

Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD. announced today the company will suspend cruising in the United States. Beginning at midnight tonight, Royal Caribbean is pausing the fleet's U.S. sailings for 30 days.

The company is communicating with their shipboard employees to resolve any issues they have regarding this difficult decision.

"We know this adds great stress to our guests, employees, and crew, and we are working to minimize the disruption. Our business is providing great vacations and creating great memories. We look forward to getting back to work as soon as we can." Said Royal Caribbean.

“We understand the gravity of the public health crisis confronting the country. And this is our part to pay.

This is probably a good moment to take a breath.

This is obviously big news, and there's no point in sugarcoating it - it's rough news to hear. But it is not the end of the world" said Richard D. Fain, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.

During the 30 days period, the crew will remain on the cruise ships and will not be sent back home.
