Caribbean Princess evacuated due to bomb alert

Thousands of crew and contractors were evacuated off the cruise ship Caribbean Princess on Friday due to a Bomb scare. The Princess cruise ship was in dry-dock in Grand Bahama Shipyard when the bomb alert was announced at 9:30 am and shortly after, at around 10 am the captain order all on board to abandon the vessel.

Goodbye Legend of the Seas

After 22 years in service, Royal Caribbean cruise ship Legend of the Seas has retired. The vessel arrived at Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain on March 26, where it will be refurbished and rebranded as TUI Discovery 2 for Thomson Cruises. With the Legend of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International said farewell from the oldest vessel of the popular Vision Class ship. 

Costa Deliziosa crew member lost at sea after falling overboard

A crew member went overboard in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean from the Costa Deliziosa cruise ship around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March, 29. The ship was on repositioning cruise from North America to Europe when a terrible tragedy occurred on the eleventh day of the voyage.

Majestic Princess joins the fleet this week

In a recent U.S.P.H. inspection conducted on March 27, 2017, Carnival Cruise Line's ship Victory earned perfect 100 points. The 101,500 gross ton cruise ship was returning from a 3-Day Caribbean Cruise to its homeport Miami, Florida when the unannounced inspection was conducted.

Holland America Line cancels all stops in Acapulco

Holland America Line has canceled eight scheduled calls to the port of Acapulco, Mexico in 2017 and 2018, due to the security issues that this tourist destination is facing. Nieuw Amsterdam and Zaandam will adjust their voyages in October, and MS Amsterdam in December, as well as four more cruises in 2018.

Rock Legend Dies Performing Onstage on Cruise Ship

Sib Hashian, the drummer who played on the first two hit albums of the legendary rock group Boston, has died at the age of 67. The rock legend died after collapsing onstage Wednesday night onboard the cruise ship MSC Divina, operated by MSC Cruises. The ship was chartered for the Legends of Rock Annual Cruise. Witness onboard report that ships medical personnel performed CPR and a defibrillator was used but to no avail.
