Bob Binder Moves From Oceania Cruises CEO to Advisory Role With NCLH

Some important changes in the management were announced this week by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. Oceania Cruises co-founder, president and CEO Bob Binder, is transiting to another role, vice chairman of NCLH. To be more specific, he will now report to Frank Del Rio, president and CEO of NCLH. 

Howard Sherman is taking over his position at Oceania Cruises accordingly on January 1, 2022. His current role is executive vice president, onboard revenue and destination services for NCLH.  

Bob Binder played a vital role in the development and growth of the brand since its inception. He has virtually supervised every facet of the global operations on the company, such as marketing, public relations, sales, finance, guest services, and e-commerce. Binder has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Oceania Cruises since September 2016 and Vice Chairman of Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises since May 2015. Prior to NCLH's acquisition of Oceania's former parent company Prestige Cruises International, Binder was Vice Chairman of Prestige since May 2011 and President since January 2008.

We are very grateful for the unwavering leadership and entrepreneurial spirit that he brought to our company during his tenure, ” commented Frank Del Rio on Binder’s move to NCLH for a press release. 

Speaking on the appointment of Howard Sherman to the role of president and CEO of Oceania Cruises, Del Rio said, “Howard is a long-time veteran of the company and the cruise industry who will bring extensive experience, innovative leadership skills and a fresh perspective to further enhance the Oceania Cruises brand, especially as the shipping company introduces it of the next generation of Allura-class ships, starting with the Vista in April 2023, opens its next chapter. "

Ross Henderson moves up to Sherman’s position. He currently serves as Senior Vice President, Onboard Revenue for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.
