Costa Cruises crew get COVID-19 vaccines at Port of Savona

Jul 01, 2021

Costa Cruises crew members began getting their COVID-19 shot this morning at the Port of Savona, Italy. According to our source, Costa Firenze arrived today in Savona to vaccinate 1040 crew members currently onboard the ship. With the assistance of the local government, the crew received the jab at the Costa Cruises passenger terminal Palacrociere.

Back in February Costa Cruises decided to open the cruise terminal as a vaccination site for the local community showing its contribution and genuine care as a socially responsible company.

′′Savona is the home of Costa Cruise for over 20 years. For this reason, in the face of a fundamental initiative like the vaccination campaign, we wanted to do everything we could to help and meet the needs of health authorities and citizens to speed up the distribution of the vaccine." Said Mario Zanetti, Costa Cruise Chief Commercial Officer and General Director of Costa Asia, at the opening of the vaccination site.

The vaccination center is located on the ground floor of the Palacrociere passenger terminal in an area of approximately 1.500 m2. Health authorities developed a protocol to ensure that the vaccination will take place in a safe environment, and they will be able to count on Costa Cruises health protocols provided by the company for its passengers and crew.

Costa Firenze will depart from Savona on July 4, 2021 sailing 7-night Mediterranean cruises until the end of November this year. The ship itinerary will include Civitavecchia, Naples, Catania, Palermo, Cagliari, and  Savona.
