Costa Mediterranea Passenger Dies in Split

Few hours after departing from the port of Split, Croatia, the cruise ship Costa Mediterranea turned back due to medical emergency. According to Index, the vessel send a distress call after a 53-year-old passenger needed urgent medical attention. Port Authority send a vessel with medical crew in order to assist and to transport the patent to hospital. Unfortunately the passenger passed away, and the medical staff could only confirm the death, said Harbor Master Davor Vidan.

The tragic event happened on October 23, while the ship was on a 7-nights Mediterranean voyage. The authorities didn’t release the identity of the deceased passenger.
