Carnival Cruise Line is launching a summer jobs program for high school students in five of its U.S. homeports—Tampa, Jacksonville, Norfolk, New York City, and Long Beach. This initiative offers students aged 17 and older six weeks of paid, hands-on experience at Carnival’s cruise terminal operations.
Participants of the “Carnival Fun-ternship Program,” will work alongside Carnival’s port services team, gaining firsthand experience in cruise terminal operations. Interns will receive training and mentorship while getting a behind-the-scenes look at homeport activities. In addition to earning an hourly wage, they will enjoy exclusive opportunities such as ship tours and career development sessions, including “lunch and learn” events.
“This program is more than just a unique and exciting summer job—it’s a chance for young people to develop professional skills, build confidence, and gain leadership experience in an industry that directly impacts their local economy,” said David Candib, vice president of Port Operations for Carnival Cruise Line. “We’re proud to invest in our homeport communities while also inspiring future professionals in the growing cruise industry.”
High school students living in these five homeport cities are encouraged to apply for the limited internship positions available. Applications are open until May 1, 2025, and the program will run from June 21 to August 2, 2025. Interested students can submit their applications here.
