The tragedy of the Costa Concordia forever changed the lives of many people who have looked death in the face and who have lost family and friends on that ship. On Costa Concordia Stefania Vincenzi has lost her mother, Maria Grazia Trecarichi. Now for Stefania, who recently turned 18, it's time to honor the memory of her mother crowned a little dream of participating in Miss Italy. 

"I pay tribute to a desire of my mother: we agreed that at 18 years of age I will take part in Miss Italy and she would follow me step by step. I do everything as if she is still there, "said the survivor Stefania Vincenzi.

The cruise on the Costa Concordia was a birthday gift. Along with her was a friend, Luisa Virzi, there was Stefania Vincenzi and of course her boyfriend. The confusion that had arisen on the ship had divided the four, only Stefania and her boyfriend managed to escape. The body of her mother Stefania Vincenzi was found a few days after the tragedy. 

Stefania remembers her mother at the time of the tragedy of the Costa Concordia , a painful memory but full of love that paints a strong and courageous woman, "I recalled many times that painful picture. Today I can only say that my mom was a strong woman. When the ship began to shake and she dare to calm those around her, including the waitress in the restaurant which were very scared. " The tragedy of the Costa Concordia for Stefania Vincenzi will never be forgotten, a painful memory that always comes. But Stefania is a determined girl, ready to honor the memory of mother and ready to create a bright future just as she would have wanted. Not only Miss Italy then, there is also the faculty of medicine waiting for her.
