Crew member and passenger medevaced from Oceania Riviera

The Spanish Coast Guard performed a medical evacuation of two people, a crew member and a passenger, who were sailing on board the cruise ship Oceania Riviera. Medical evacuation has been confirmed to Europa Press by a spokesman for Maritime Rescue, who said that, around 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, the passenger ship Oceania Riviera contacted the emergency center in the port of Algeciras.  Emergency request for medical evacuation was sent for a passenger with pulmonary embolism and for a crew member with appendicitis, while the vessel was sailing from Malaga to Tenerife, Canary Islands. After an hour later, at around 10:15 p.m.  the rescue crew arrived  on land with the passenger and his partner as well as the crew member, where an ambulance awaited theme, and all were taken to hospital for further treatment

Riviera is curtly sailing on an 18-Nights Transatlantic voyage from Rome to Miami with around 1200 passengers and 800 crewmembers on board.
