A 33 year-old British crew member employed as a cook aboard a cruise ship was found hanged in his cabin.

According to the police the man was found Saturday morning hanging in the cabin he occupied on board "Crystal Serenity" ship operated by Crystal Cruises under the Bahamian flag.

The ship was docked in Bordeaux, France when the tragic accident occurred on July 16. The alert was given by the ship's authorities around 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. French police say the man left a farewell note, however they didn’t reveal the content of the note or the identity of the crew member.
