Ever wondered how the life of a crew member is relay like? I know many of you have experienced this first hand and once you board that big steel structure you call “Home away from home” is like you entered another planet. Many cruise lines will say that you will travel the world, met new people and cultures and getting paid for this. This is only the tip of the iceberg and general info about your new adventure. If you really like to know what happens on the cruise ship from the recruiting process and through your first contract, vacation, love, friendship and lots more I suggest you read the book "C.R.U.I.S.E" by the author Jayden (Daniel) Moorea. Now you might say "how is this book different from other books about the shiplife?" The book is brutally honest, but most importantly without exaggerations about the shiplife. As he says “My motto in life is that, I’d rather be hated for my honesty, than loved for my lies.”
J.D Mo’orea has gained a reputation as one of Australia’s leading cruise ship authorities over the last 20 years. After spending close to 10 years at sea, sailing over 1 million miles and visiting more than 400 destinations, J.D stepped into the travel industry and soon became one of the top cruise consultants and cruise trainers in Australia.
In his book “C.R.U.I.S.E” which is a true story of his life at sea, J.D Mo’orea will take you deep inside the cruise ship industry and give you an inside look at the good, the bad, the funny, and the ugly experiences unique to cruising. He will unveil life as it is on board these luxurious floating cities, which also happen to be home to tens of thousands of men and women all around the world.
This book is not the Love Boat or the Titanic, filled with romance and love. Well, there is some, but it’s not the main premise. It is a story of love, lust, betrayal, and lots of fun, frivolity, and debauchery along the way with absolutely no regrets whatsoever.
So why this book is named “C.R.U.I.S.E”?
All cruise lines use acronym for their mission statement and “C.R.U.I.S.E” stands for C – Courtesy; R – Respect; U – Unfailing; I – In; S – Service; E – Excellence.
However, crew members made their own “C.R.U.I.S.E” acronym which stands for C - Can’t; R – Rest; U – Until; I - I’ve; S – Shagged; E – Everything. There is also “Can’t Rest Until I’ve Snogged Everybody,” or “Can’t Really Understand Italians Speaking English."
The idea behind the book title and its content is more towards the second acronym with slight variation “Cant Rest Until I’ve Sailed Everywhere.” The book is full of life and inspiring people, as well as how they could approach their ship life and live it to the fullest without regrets. In his book J.D Mo’orea also explains why ship life is so different from life on land.
“To the uninitiated at sea, there appears to be a serious lack of morals on cruise ships. This lack of morals, is not because the people at sea are all raging nymphomaniacs or dirty whores. It is simply due to what I like to call the “fishbowl effect.” This change of personal values when stepping on board, is also due in part, by the fantasy type ideals of cruise ships, created by many episodes of The Love Boat.”
C.R.U.I.S.E is a mix of the most hilarious stories and crazy adventures you may ever read. You will laugh, be shocked, be mildly disgusted (or very disgusted), but nonetheless completely entertained as J.D Mo’orea and his incredible “ship friends” take you deep below passenger decks as they get wet and fall in love.

C.R.U.I.S.E Apparel
If you’ve ever been on a cruise, you have more than likely seen various types of apparel that passengers wear to celebrate the fact that they are on a cruise. The “C.R.U.I.S.E” (Can’t Rest Until I’ve Sailed Everywhere) brand is for the “cruise addict” and was born when J.D Mo’orea was working onboard cruise ships from 2001 – 2009. J.D came up with what he calls the “true meaning” of what the word “cruise” stands for. The C.R.U.I.S.E Apparel label has proven to be popular among cruisers, all over the world.
