The Queen Mary was built in 1936 and crossed the Atlantic more than 1,000 times. The ship served to transport Allied troops during World War II and participated in the invasion of Normandy, but it is also famous for other strange events.
Today this ship is a luxury hotel in Long Beach, but many people do not dare to enter inside for being considered one of the most paranormal activity centers in the world, in fact there are records of up to 55 "demonstrations" in several different areas. Here are some of them:
The door 13 of the engine room: On July 10, 1966 maintenance was performed on the watertight doors in the engine room. An 18 year old crew member, John Pedder was working on maintenance. In an unfortunate accident John was crushed by the door No. 13 and died on the spot. Later, testimony of crew and passengers, says they have seen a young man with beard, blue dress, walking down the hallway of the engine room and disappearing into the gate number 13.
A tour guide was down the aisle when she had the feeling of being watched by someone. As she turned back, she could see a figure vanishing before her eyes. She immediately reported the incident. The description of the person she saw matched with the profile of John Pedder. She was shown a set of pictures to see if she could identify him. Of the entire sample, she identified the photo of John Pedder.
The nursery in the 3rd class: In one of the many trips that the Queen Mary has made across the Atlantic, a woman gave birth. The parents decided to name the baby Leigh Travers Smith. The baby was brought in this nursery, but something was not right and within few hours later the baby died. There are witnesses who claim that have heard the cry of a baby from the nursery during the night. Many of them believe that it is the baby Leigh Travers Smith.
The Queen Hall is a first class lounge. The opulence and glamour of this lounge is surrounded with strange experiences by people who have enjoyed the privileges of this place. There are testimonies from crew and passengers, who claim to have seen, a very beautiful young woman dressed in white shiny gown. Some say, that has seen the shadows dancing elegantly in the lounge. There are numerous appearances, along the ship's history, of this ghost named: "the white lady".
First class: In the most luxurious parts of the ships there are numerous reports of sounds of running water from the taps in the middle of the night, and then verify that no tap is opened. There are also reports of phone ringing late at night and no one answers back. Passengers complain that the neighboring room is noisy and do not let them rest, however, found that the room was not occupied.
In a recent sightseeing tour, one of the tourists took a photo of a mirror in a suite. Looking in the photo, noticed that the mirror has reflected a silhouette of a strange man. The guide in charge for this tour denied that the man in the mirror was part of the tour group. In a close examination of the photo, he noticed that the man has strange styling and his clothes were from the past several decades, specifically the '30s.
Premier Pools: This place is restricted, only guided tours are allowed. Several strange things have happened in these pools. Many passengers have seen ladies in swimming suits walking along the edge of the pool, appearing and disappearing without any rational explanation. Sometimes the people were waked up by the sound of splashing water, as if someone was swimming in the pool, but no one was in the water, no one was swimming.
In the first class pool, there were two tragic events. Two women drowned, one in the 30s and the other in the 60s.
