Indonesian Crew Member Medically Evacuated from Cruise Ship in Santorini

A cruise ship crew member was medically evacuated on October 6, 2025, following a serious health condition reported while the vessel was anchored off the Greek island of Santorini (Thira), according to Greek local media.

The incident triggered an alarm at the Port Authority of Thira late Saturday night. Reports said that a 30-year-old Indonesian national, working as a Linen Keeper aboard a Maltese-flagged cruise ship, required immediate medical assistance.

Local authorities responded promptly, assisting in the disembarkation of the crew member. He was initially transported to a private clinic in Thira, where he received first aid, before being airlifted to a private medical facility in Athens for further treatment.

The cruise ship continued its scheduled itinerary after the medical evacuation was completed.

While local media did not disclose the name of the vessel, four cruise ships were docked at Santorini on October 6: Seven Seas Grandeur, Norwegian Viva, MSC Sinfonia, and Marella Explorer.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the crew member, and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.
