MSC Cruises takes delivery of MSC Virtuosa

Today, February 1 2021, MSC Cruises has taken delivery of the fleet's 18th ship, MSC Virtuosa. In a private ceremony held at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint Nazaire, France, the new ship received its official flag and was baptized. The ceremony was attended by MSC Cruises executive president, Pierfrancesco Vago, Captain Massa, as well as representatives of the MSC new construction team, along with representatives from the shipyard.

“My family and I could not miss the opportunity to personally receive the newest member of our fleet. The delivery of MSC Virtuosa at such a challenging time for our sector symbolizes the way that, as a family business, we continue to look to the long term and build our future, ”said Pierfrancesco Vago, accompanied by his wife and son, “we remain committed to building some of the most innovative ships in the world with regard to their environmental performance that features no less than some of the most advanced offshore technologies available. As important as that, with each new ship, we continue to push the limits and innovate our product offering with new and exclusive experiences for our guests.”

MSC Virtuosa starts sailing on April 16, with four Mediterranean cruises of 3, 4 and 10 nights before leaving for its new homeport in Kiel, Germany, from where it will complete itineraries in Northern Europe from 8 May.
