Disney Cruises Evaluates Possible Return to Mazatlan

Disney Cruises Executives arrived in Mazatlan where they will conduct an inspection and evaluation for possible return of their cruise ships to this Mexican tourist destination.

Ronald Crawford, Director of Disney Cruises Intelligence and Analysis; Stephen D. Link, Director of Security and Emergency for Disney Cruises; and Andrew Petersen, analyst for Disney Cruises, held a meeting with the Mayor of Mazatlan, Carlos Gonzalez Felton.

Disney cruises officials were informed about the strategies and security protocols jointly carried out by local, state and federal authorities and the active participation of the entire tourism sector.

At the meeting, the Secretary for Public Security of Mazatlan, made a presentation of the strategy and security protocols prior, during and after the visit of a cruise ship to Mazatlan, as well as work safety and resorts in the rural areas.

Stephen D. Link, Director of Security and Emergency for Disney Cruises, said that during the next three days they will be touring the port of Mazatlan, to meet the different and attractive tourist centers, in addition to visits to areas of excursions located inside and outside the city, and observe the process of arrival, embarkation and disembarkation of passengers.

He explained that the type of Disney cruise passengers are usually parents traveling with two children and grandparents, so it is important Mazatlan to offer family experience.
