Carnival Sensation Rescues 16 Cuban Migrants

A group of 16 migrants was intercepted by a Carnival Cruise line ship about 50 miles north of Cuba. On board Carnival Sensation was Pittsburgh Steelers, James Harrison who shot the rescue in the Gulf of Mexico and posted the photos on his facebook account.

On the snapshots it can be seen Cubans on a crude raft made of metal drums and boards and how a rescue boat approaches to rescue them.

According to the spokesman for the cruise line, Jennifer de la Cruz, the Carnival Sensation crew intercepted on their route a raft with 15 men and one woman. She added that 16 people were taken aboard the cruise ship to keep them safe and provide assistance.

The Coast Guard officer Jon-Paul Rios said the should should be processed by the Mexican migration authorities, because the next call of the ship is Cozumel, Mexico.
