Brilliance of the Seas Rescues 18 Cuban Migrants, 9 Died During the Trip

Yesterday Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas crew rescued 18 Cubans, who were adrift in the waters of the Caribbean. Dehydrated and exhausted, they were provided with water, food and medical attention on board. U.S. Coast Guard was notified by the cruise ship officers, and took over the migrants.

Cubans say that they started the journey to Florida with 27 people and 9 people have died. The bodies of the descendent were thrown into the sea during their 22 days voyage. 

Allegedly two women and two men are hospitalized, their health status is unknown. 

Brilliance of the Seas is on a 4 night Western Caribbean cruise and is scheduled to arrive in Tampa on Monday morning.
