Massive wave hit Royal Caribbean cruise ship, Rhapsody of the Seas, damaging ships portholes on deck 3 and causing flood in section of the ships interior. The incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. yesterday while the ship was sailing to Corsica . Cruise Law News reported about this incident and several passengers posted on twitter saying that there were 60 cabins flooded on deck 3 and water spilled into the hallway. Rhapsody of the Seas continued the journey and will stay in Corsica until 12 a.m. in order to fix the damage. A passenger onboard said that the wave  caused collapse of ceilings and walls.

The ship is currently sailing on a 9-nights cruise between the Mediterranean and the Adriatic, with the following destinations:

•Barcelona, Spain (April 24)

•Ajaccio, Corsica (April 25)

•Naples, Italy (April 27)

•Messina, Sicily (April 28)

•Valletta, Malta (April 29)

•Kotor, Montenegro (May 1)

•Ravenna, Italy (May 2)

•Venice, Italy (May 3)

A member of the forum Cruise Critic , quotes Captain Dimas Manrique , who is considered one of the best captains of the Royal Caribbean fleet who in public announcement described the situation as follows:

"On Monday night, the bow and stern of the Rhapsody of the Seas were raised simultaneously by two long waves, so that the central part of the ship found itself under great pressure.

Several portholes, in about 5 cabins, were broken by water that flooded deck 3, damaging the cabins of Deck 3 and 2.

Seven passengers were slightly injured in the accident, and were treated on board and are doing well"
