Queen Elizabeth Skips the Port of Cagliari

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Three cruise ships were scheduled to dock in the Italian port of Cagliari on November 2, instead only two ships landed, Costa Pacifica and Queen Victoria with around 5,000 tourists. The third cruise ship, Queen Elizabeth arrived and didn’t dock at the scheduled port. According to the website La Nuova Sardegna Queen Elizabeth didn’t dock in Cagliari because of technical reasons in the harbor and continued the voyage to its next port of call.

The reasons why the Cunard’s cruise ship didn’t dock in Cagliari are not yet clear, however the pilot who was on board will submit a report to the port authorities, explaining why the master of the ship has made decision not to call at Cagliari. It is not the first time for Queen Elizabeth to visit Cagliari and the ship has always moored in the dock Rebirth, however yesterday the vessel was scheduled to arrive in the dock Savoy.

La Nuova Sardegna says a rumor circulated that the master of the ship did not considered the seabed depth assigned by the Harbour Master sufficient for the ship.
