Oceania Regatta Suffers Propulsion Problems

Submitted by jozo on

We have just received a message from a reader of Crew-Center that the cruise ship Oceania Regatta is experiencing technical problems. Today’s scheduled stop in the Cartagena, Colombia is canceled and the vessel was anchored just outside from the port. Ship’s captain informed passengers onboard via PA system that the vessel is experiencing technical issues. Technical personnel (contractors) boarded the vessel by a pilot boat and are working to solve the problem.

“Message from Oceania Regatta. We are just outside Cartagena Colombia, anchor. They cancel this port we couldn't make on time. The ship has some technical issues, running without one engine. Nobody knows what's going to happen with the rest of the cruise.” Says the message we received.

Oceania Regatta experienced propulsion problems couple of days ago. The ship has replaced the trustees in Miami on May 6, just before the start of the current 16-Night cruise. There is no news if the ship will cancel some ports-of-call or the crossing of the Panama Canal.

Back in November 2017, Oceania Regatta experienced a blackout for three days after generators breakdown in Hawaii. After Power was restored, the ship turned back to Honolulu, sailing at a reduced speed of 4 knots.
