Submitted by kgnadmin on

Today the cruise ship Mein Schiff 2 arrived at the port of Las Palmas with 740 crew members onboard for the final preparations before the start of the winter cruise season in the Canary Islands. Mein Schiff 2 is scheduled to depart tomorrow, November 6, from Las Palmas on a 7 and 14 night Blue Voyages around the Canary Islands with stops in Arrecife, Tenerife, La Gomera, Puerto del Rosario, Tenerife, and Santa Cruz De La Palma.

The Port Authority of Las Palmas will present a commemorative plaque to the captain of the ship in recognition of TUI Cruises' commitment to restart the cruise activity from this base port. The company expressed gratification for contributing to the tourism in the Canary Islands and thanked for the cooperation shown by the authorities and their local partners for making cruises possible.

The passenger capacity on board will be limited to a maximum of 60 percent, and only the balcony cabins and suites will be occupied. Around 896 German guests are expected to board the ship which will have to pass screening and are required to take a PCR test.

TUI Cruises said that Canary Islands cruises are only offered as a complete holiday package which includes arrival and departure in a plane chartered for "Mein Schiff" passengers, and shore excursions organized only by the cruise line. Since the restart of cruises in July, TUI Cruises has welcomed more than 40,000 passengers without a single corona incident.
