MSC Cruises announced that MSC Grandiosa will resume the weekly voyages in the Western Mediterranean starting January 24, 2021. The company plans to return at sea with a second ship, the MSC Magnifica which will resume her scheduled 11-nights cruises in Italy, Greece, and Malta from February 14.

As a result of the extension of the restrictive measures set in a decree from the Italian government preventing cruises until January 15, MSC announced in a press release that it is forced to cancel the scheduled voyages of MSC Grandiosa departing on 10 January. As a precautionary measure, MSC Cruises also canceled the departure on January 17. As a result, the first cruise of MSC Grandiosa following the temporary suspension of operation in connection with the implementation of these same measures during the Christmas and end-of-year festivities will now depart from Genoa on Sunday 24 January.

The MSC flagship, MSC Grandiosa, will resume her scheduled weekly cruises departing each Sunday from the port of Genoa and calling the Italian ports of Civitavecchia (Monday), Naples (Tuesday), Palermo (Wednesday), and Malta (Thursday). A condition that will allow the various guests to choose where to start and end the same cruise (Genoa, Civitavecchia, Naples or Palermo).

MSC Grandiosa will offer these weekly itineraries until 21 March, after which the cruise ship will remain in the Western Mediterranean with cruises from the summer program with a new itinerary.

From 14 February the cruise ship MSC Magnifica will also resume her operation departing from Genoa on 11-night cruises to the Western and Eastern Mediterranean in Italy, with stops in Greece and Malta.
