The moment that many loyal Mein Schiff guests and crew have been waiting for after two years of uncertainty and setbacks has finally arrived. Today TUI Cruises celebrated an important milestone as the company marked the return to service of the final ship in the fleet.

Mein Schiff Herz, has departed on April 3, from Las Palmas on 10-day Gran Canaria to Mallorca voyage as the 7th ship in the fleet to resume cruise operations. The General Manager Stephan Zimmermann and the crew of the Mein Schiff Herz welcomed guests once again back on board.

During the pandemic, Mein Schiff Herz has spent most of her time sitting idle off the coast of Tenerife. At the end of February 2022, the oldest ship in the TUI Cruises fleet set a course to Cadiz, where the vessel underwent an extensive dry dock refurbishment to make it fit for active service. Mein Schiff Herz left the shipyard on March 25, sailing for Tenerife, before arriving in Las Palmas.

Mein Schiff Herz will be sailing under  TUI Cruises banner for a little over a year with the final farewell set on April 16, 2023. Then it will join Marella Cruises (part of the TUI Group) as a fifth ship in its fleet and will be renamed Marella Voyager.

TUI Cruises has a strong presence in the Canary Islands with three ships currently deployed in the region including Mein Schiff 3, 4 and Herz. The company offers Mediterranean sailings aboard Mein Schiff 5 and 6 from  Palma De Mallorca and Iraklion.  Mein Schiff 1 is sailing Northern Europe cruises from Bremerhaven, while the company’s only cruise ship deployed in the Caribbean is Mein Schiff 2 offering cruises from La Romana, Dominican Republic.
