Princess Cruises Cancels Majestic Princess Sailings in Australia

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Princess Cruises has informed guests about the cancellation of the Majestic Princess cruise in Australia. The cruise line has announced compensation options for affected guests, which comes after the recently canceled cruises for two more vessels in the fleet.

The cruise company has announced more cancellations that affect guests cruising Australia. Majestic Princess sailings from March 7, 2023, to March 9, 2023, have now been canceled.

These voyages are part of a longer 18-day itinerary that can be combined using different departure ports. Princess Cruises said the reason for the cancellation was the result of recent scheduling changes.

The Australian Seacation voyage was scheduled to depart from Sydney on March 7 and end in Brisbane on March 9. There was also a much longer 18-day voyage to Asia and Australia that started on the same day and ended in Hong Kong on March 25, 2023. The third hit sailing was a 16-day voyage through Asia and Australia from Brisbane to Hong Kong.

The cruise line offers alternative options for guests booked on a Majestic Princess voyage. It is recommended to replace the trip with a two-day voyage from Sydney departing on April 6, 2024, a 21-day voyage from Sydney departing on April 6, and a 19-day voyage departing from Brisbane on April 8, 2024.

When guests switch to a replacement cruise, their current ticket price and promotions will remain protected. If guests do not want to be transferred to alternative sailing in 2024, they can instead receive a 100% credit for future cruising (FCC). The FCC must be used by 31 December 2022 on a voyage by 30 April 2024.

Guests can also get a full refund if they no longer wish to sail the cruise line. This will have to be requested using the online form by July 20, 2022. Guests who do not choose to refund will automatically receive the FCC option.

The cancellation of the Majestic Princess follows another recently canceled voyage in the fleet. Due to changes in the schedule, the cruise company recently informed the guests that it had canceled the trips of the Royal Princess from September 5, 2023, to October 10, 2023.

Cruises on the Regal Princess have been canceled due to the developing situation in Eastern Europe. The cruise line has removed its Baltic 2023 program for the ship, affecting cruises from April 9, 2023, to September 3, 2023.

There was also a shortage of crew, which affected the cruise tours in Alaska, and, of course, the ongoing problems with the Princess due to her maximum cruising speed.
