Two out of seven mail ships already feature hybrid drives, with a third scheduled for implementation in the coming autumn. The remaining five vessels will also undergo technological enhancements, reducing CO2 emissions by 25% and NOx emissions by 80%. Hurtigruten Expeditions, the sister company, introduced the world's first hybrid expedition ship, MS Roald Amundsen, in 2019, and now three out of the seven expedition ships boast hybrid drives.
