Submitted by kgnadmin on

The highly anticipated construction of Mein Schiff 7, the latest addition to the TUI Cruises brand, has been underway at the Meyer shipyard in Turku, Finland, since June 14, 2022. This new vessel aims to increase the fleet's capacity following the retirement of the former Mein Schiff Herz (now Marella Voyager) in April of this year. With a construction timeline of less than two years, Mein Schiff 7 is rapidly taking shape, bringing excitement to cruise enthusiasts worldwide.

The Mein Schiff fleet consists of six ships, and Mein Schiff 7 will further expand the brand's offerings. To showcase the progress of this remarkable endeavor, TUI Cruises recently released a captivating time-lapse video on YouTube. In just under a minute, viewers can witness the transformation of the ship from its initial stages to its current state. The video captures key milestones, including laying the keel in late March 2023, marking the completion of a quarter of the shipbuilding process. To build Mein Schiff 7, 85 steel blocks are meticulously joined and welded together. As a sister ship to Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2, Mein Schiff 7 is expected to maintain the high standards set by its predecessors. Notably, TUI Cruises is implementing a shore power connection and preparing for methanol operation, deviating from the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) seen in other vessels.

The maiden season for Mein Schiff 7 is scheduled to commence on June 23, 2024, from Kiel, Germany, pending timely delivery from the Meyer shipyard. During the summer of 2024, the new vessel will embark on Northern Europe cruises, offering captivating itineraries to destinations such as Norway, Iceland, and the Baltic Sea. TUI Cruises has also revealed plans for Mein Schiff 7's winter season in 2024/2025, with voyages around the Canary Islands. Excitement is building, and prospective passengers can already book cruises starting from the maiden voyage in June 2024 until the end of the 2023/2025 winter season in April 2025.
