P&O Cruises extends pause in operations because of European travel uncertainty

Submitted by kgnadmin on

The Southampton-based cruise line P&O Cruises announced it will extend the pause in operations into April 2021, which will affect 19 planned voyages.

P&O Cruises president Paul Ludlow said: "We clearly don’t want to extend our pause in operations and further than absolutely necessary, but given the ever-changing guidance around international travel and the varying regulations in many European ports of call it's become necessary to cancel these additional dates. We also felt this was the right thing to do for our Guests as final payments are due for these cruises very soon.”

“I understand that this news, coupled with the UK lockdown and uncertainty around when the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) will lift the guidance against cruising, is naturally understanding. I want to assure you that we're continuing our activity around our return to service so we can make sure that we're completely ready when the time is right to return to sailing for us and our Guests.”
