Shekhar Grover is this year’s winner of Bacardi Legacy Global Cruise Cocktail Competition Finals. Representing Royal Caribbean International at the annual Bacardi Legacy finals Grover won this prestigious competition with his cocktail “The Royal Legacy”. He will receive $4,000 prize, and a chance to compete at the Bacardi Global Finals in Mexico City.
The 13th annual competition was held on February 6, at “The Wharf Miami” with hundreds of visitors cheering for their favorite bartenders. It was a long journey to make it to the finals which attracted more than 1,600 entries from the cruise industry’s leading bartenders out of which three bartenders have been chosen.
After the announcement of the winner, Shekhar Grover said “Thank you, everyone who supported me and had trust in me. There are always days when you are down but next day you have to wake up and perform what you have to do. As rightly said “Bar is our Arena and we are Performers at stage” thank you all again for the support”
The winning cocktail “The Royal Legacy” is one of Shekhar's personal favorites. The cocktail enhances the blend of Bacardi 8 and preserves its Royalty of being one of the Best Rums the World has to offer.
Here are the ingredients and preparation method of the best Bacardi Cocktail on the seven seas:
- INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 parts Bacardi 8 Años
- 1 part Sweet Vermouth
- 1 part Vermouth Bianco infused with Dates
- 2 dashes of Chocolate Bitters
- 2 dashes of Plum Bitters
- Skewered dates to garnish
- PREPARATION METHOD
- Infuse Dates with Vermouth Bianco and keep aside for a couple of hours in a very small batch. Add all ingredients in a mixing glass and top up with ice. Stir well and double strain into a rocks glass over a block of ice. Garnish with Dry Dates.
