During the current 7-day Alaska voyage, the ship was inspected by the USPH for the final time, achieving a perfect score of 100%—a testament to the Seabourn crew's commitment to excellence. This exciting news was shared by several crew members who posted messages and photos.

One crew member said, “Seabourn Odyssey scored a perfect 100% on the USPH inspection in Juneau, Alaska, on August 16. This marks the last Juneau port for Seabourn Odyssey before she heads to dry dock following her Farewell Voyage cruise bound for Yokohama, Japan, and the handover to her new owner, Mitsui Ocean Cruise Line. This is truly a double celebration for the Seabourn Odyssey crew, staff, officers, and beloved guests. What a Seabourn moment!”

After the dry dock, the ship will set sail on a 23-day voyage from Seattle to Yokohama, Tokyo, as Mitsui Ocean Fuji. The ship will then begin roundtrip voyages from Tokyo, running from December 1, 2024, to January 8, 2025. These cruises range from five to 10 days, visiting ports such as Beppu, Shingu, Kochi, Takamatsu, Kagoshima, Jeju, and Busan, Korea.

In March 2023, Carnival Corporation sold the Seabourn Odyssey to the Japanese company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL). Following the sale, Seabourn continued to operate all voyages through August 2024 under a charter arrangement, with the vessel set to be delivered to Mitsui in September. The Seabourn Odyssey will officially be handed over to MOL after the charter agreement ends.

In October 2023, MOL Cruises, Ltd. announced the launch of a new cruise brand, Mitsui Ocean Cruises, and revealed the new name for Seabourn Odyssey: Mitsui Ocean Fuji. The ship will become MOL Cruises' second vessel, alongside the Nippon Maru.
