Carnival Dream Resumes Cruise After Anchor Issue in Belize

Carnival Dream has been released after experiencing an anchor issue off the coast of Belize and continued its voyage to Cozumel, Mexico, today. The ship had remained delayed for several hours on May 13 after the crew was unable to retrieve the vessel’s anchor while anchored near Belize City, a tender port located close to the Belize Barrier Reef.

Passengers onboard reported hearing announcements from the bridge confirming that engineers and crew were working to resolve the problem, with concerns that divers might need to inspect the anchor underwater. The delay sparked speculation online that the anchor may have become caught on or near the reef area.

Despite the incident, the ship was later able to resume its voyage and arrived in Cozumel on May 14, allowing the scheduled Western Caribbean cruise to continue.
