San Francisco has officially welcomed Carnival Legend marking the ship’s debut at its new seasonal homeport. The vessel becomes the second Carnival ship to operate from the Port of San Francisco, reinforcing the company’s presence in California as the cruise line that embarks more guests than any other in the state.
To celebrate the arrival, port officials and Carnival Legend’s senior officers, including Captain Mark Harlow, participated in a ceremonial plaque exchange. The ship’s deployment also completes Carnival’s Alaska cruise season lineup, joining Carnival Spirit and Carnival Luminosa, both based in Seattle.
From San Francisco, Carnival Legend will operate a series of 10-day roundtrip cruises to Alaska and shorter itineraries to the Mexican Riviera. Additionally, a 15-day roundtrip Carnival Journeys cruise to Hawaii is scheduled for September 21, with stops across Maui, Oahu, Kauai, and the Big Island.
Carnival executives said that the ship’s arrival is a strategic move to expand offerings for West Coast travelers, while reinforcing San Francisco as a key embarkation hub for diverse long-haul and short cruise experiences.
