Disney Dream Enters Dry Dock in France

Submitted by kgnadmin on

The Disney Dream, one of the most beloved ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, has arrived at the Damen Shiprepair facility in Brest, France, for an extended dry dock. The ship will undergo a month-long refurbishment for significant upgrades.

One of the exciting new features to be added will be "Donald's Cantina," located on Deck 11, offering a fresh dining experience. Additionally, a luxurious Dream Tower Suite will be created inside the ship’s forward funnel. This suite will pay tribute to the Disney Dream’s stern character and is themed around the classic Disney film, Fantasia.

Another key enhancement is the new Concierge Lounge, themed after the Disney animated film Hercules and Mount Olympus, adding a touch of mythological grandeur. The ship's spa will also see improvements with a refreshed check-in area and additional treatment rooms.

Updates to the youth spaces are also part of the renovation. The Edge club for tweens (ages 11-14) will relocate to Deck 5 and include new amenities, such as an outdoor deck with a ball pit, recreational games, and an exclusive lounge for parties. Younger guests (ages 3-10) can look forward to a new Marvel-themed attraction at the Oceaneer Club.

These exciting updates will debut ahead of Disney Dream’s 2024-25 winter programAlthough the Disney Dream won’t welcome passengers until October 20, 2024, they can anticipate a fully modernized cruise experience. After departing Southampton, the ship will embark on a 13-day transatlantic crossing to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where it will begin its winter Caribbean season.
