Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd has announced the order of four new class ships which will join the NCL fleet by the end of 2025. The first of four new concept cruise ships will be delivered in 2022 by the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. Each ship will cost 800 million euro and will be able to accommodate 3,300 passengers.  The order of the 140,000 gross tons vessels is based on a prototype project developed by Fincantieri that values the consolidated characteristics of Freestyle Cruising by NCL with an innovative product for further enrich the experience offered to passengers. In addition, particular attention was paid to energy efficiency, with the dual aim to limit consumption during operation and minimize environmental impact, in line with the latest regulations.

The Italian shipbuilder has already constructed cruise ships fort the Companies in the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings group. Fincantieri has built for Regent Seven Seas, the ultra-luxury unit Seven Seas Explorer in 2016 and is now realizing the twin unit with delivery expected in 2020 in Ancona. For Oceania Cruises Fincantieri has built the ships Marina and Riviera in the shipyard in Sestri in 2011 and in 2012.
