Cruises are the most popular getaway for Australians; in fact, more than 5% of the population take a cruise each year, so it's no wonder that Regent Seven Seas Cruises has just announced that their ultra-luxury cruise ship, the Seven Seas Explorer will be touring Australia and New Zealand for its 2020-21 season. This is the first time that Australia has been on the agenda since the ship first set sail in 2016. The Seven Seas Explorer
The Seven Seas Explorer cost over $450 million to build and has been stated as being one of the most luxurious ships to cruise Australia. It is clear that no expense has been spared - there is over an acre of marble onboard, and if you’re looking to be inspired, then it’s worth checking out the $7 million art collection, including Picasso lithographs in the Regent Suite. The ship is captained by Stanislas Gerard Jean Mercier De Lacombe. Heading up management is Franck Galzy, and Ray Solaire is cruise director. There are 550 members of staff on board, and there are plenty of opportunities for new crew members to move up the ranks and gain experience.
What Is Included?
For passengers, there are 750 rooms available, all with balconies and marble ensuite bathrooms. All drinks and dining in one of the many specialty dining rooms are included in the fare. 24-hour room service is also included, and the liquor and minibars are replenished every day at no extra cost. Many of the spa and wellness facilities are also included in the fare. Passengers will need to organize travel insurance for the Australia cruise separately, however, ensuring there is adequate cover for travel delays and cancellations. For crew members, there are plenty of opportunities to earn tips on top of salary, but to ensure a good job, you will need the right qualifications and to be conscious of appearance.
The Seven Seas Itineraries
The Explorer will set sail for the first time in Australian waters on December 28th, 2020 from Darwin on the coast of the Northern Territory. From there, she will sail to Sydney, arriving on 6th January 2021. There are nine different itineraries to choose from, exploring Australia, Asia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. To see the diverse landscapes of Australia, there is a 154-night cruise from Sydney to Auckland - over these many months, passengers can enjoy a variety of excursions, from hiking in the Blue Mountains to feeding Koala bears in Melbourne and seeing the stingrays in Gisborne.
