Frank Del Rio Inducted Into Travel Hall of Fame

Frank Del Rio, chief executive of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, was inducted into the British Travel and Hospitality Hall of Fame. The ceremony hosted by Jacobs Media Group was held on April 29, at The Dorchester hotel in London where Frank Del Rio was recognized for his achievers in the travel and leisure sector, honoring his significant achievements.

"Entry into such a respected institution is a real honor and praise, which I humbly share with the many talented people who have helped make Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings a true global leader in cruise travel," said Frank Del Rio.

With Frank Del Rio in charge, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings grew to a fleet of 26 ships and delivered consistent record financial performance with industry-leading metrics. Other milestones include the first trip to Cuba by a major cruise brand in North America in more than 50 years; and the introduction of five new ships for the fleet, including Seven Seas Explorer, the most luxurious ship ever built, and Norwegian Bliss, the most successful ship in Norwegian Cruise Line history.

The company has 11 ships on order to be delivered by 2027, including seven ships for Norwegian Cruise Line, two for Oceania Cruises and two for Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The company will receive its newest ship, Norwegian Encore, in the fall of 2019.

Alongside Frank Del Rio five other business leaders are inducted into travel Hall of Fame including the co-owners of AmaWaterways, Kristin Karst and Rudi Schreiner, Bea Tollman, founder of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, and Gary and Rita Beckwith, founders of City Cruises.
