The sudden end of the Crystal Cruises story that brought the ultraluxury cruise market to a whole new level, has left thousands of crew members with many questions about their future. These highly skilled top professionals who dedicated years of service to their much-loved cruise line started wondering if they will be able to find a job in these difficult times.

However, in the past few weeks, something interesting happen. Many of the luxury cruise lines, if not all, expressed interest in Crystal Cruises' most valuable asset, the crew. The cruise lines, through their recruiting partners, send many offers on social media about new job opportunities giving priority to the Crystal crew.

The former Crystal Cruises President Jack Anderson has also reached out to his industry contacts in a campaign to help the crew and shoreside employees find new jobs.

“I can't think of anything more important than helping every single employee regain some security. What an extraordinary honor and privilege it's been to be part of the Crystal team focused on our customers, trying to do the right thing, with utter exhaustion, to the end. They made me proud. I love them all,” Mr. Andreson said for Seatrade Cruise News.

As a true family Crystal Cruises crew have supported each other during these difficult times, and shared information about new job offers in the cruise industry market. The latest and probably the most interesting offer comes from Windstar Cruises. The upscale cruise line that operates a fleet of small luxury cruise ships is offering a sign-on bonus of up to $1500 as an extra incentive to entice the experienced crew to come on board. The new recruits who join Windstar within the next 6 weeks will be paid sign-on bonus upon joining the ships, Windstar letter addressed to the crew reads.

Windstar is looking for experienced professionals that can provide a lot of value to their company in all positions from Housekeeping Stewards, Dining Room staff, to Captains and Hotel Managers.

Sign-on bonuses for potential employees have always been around for land-based jobs offered to the top professionals, however, this is the first time for a cruise line to offer this incentive to shipboard employees.

To apply interested candidates need to contact Windstar Cruises official hiring partners: Singa Ship Agency in the Philippines, SBI Agency in Indonesia, and Viking Recruitment for other regions in the world.
