Carnival Jubilee Marks Construction Milestone

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Meier Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany provided the latest update on the construction of the Carnival Cruise Line newest ship Carnival Jubilee.

The first Excel-class cruise ship to be built for Carnival Cruise Line in Germany marked a significant milestone with the lifting of the last block on board the vessel. Now the stern is also complete, and an important step towards the completion of the cruise ship for Carnival Cruise Line has been taken. The exterior steel construction is thus complete.

“With a lot of commitment and shipbuilding passion, we are now concentrating on the work in interior areas of the Carnival Jubilee. We are proud to build this great ship in Papenburg and look forward to Carnvial’s guests celebrating her arrival to Galveston, Texas at the end of the year,” MEYER WERFT GmbH & Co. KG said.

Construction of the 180,000 gross ton Carnival Jubilee began in March 2022 when Carnival Cruise Line and Meier Werft Shipyard celebrated the first cutting of the first steel. The keel was laid in July 2022 and since then, the shipyard has been working hard to complete the vessel.

Once completed, Carnival Jubilee will be based year-round in Galveston, Texas, and will operate seven-day cruises to the Western Caribbean departing every Saturday. Voyages include cruises to Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico and Mahogany Bay on Isla Roatan, Honduras. The vessel will be able to accommodate 5,347 guests at double occupancy and as many as 6,631 guests when fully booked.
