A&P Group has completed a multi-million-pound programme of works at the Falmouth ship-repair complex on the MV Bolette, the largest passenger ship to visit the facility in over 60 years.
MV Bolette, the flagship of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, completed its 13-day dry dock refurbishment, which included maintenance work on the ship's Azipods and bow thrusters, as well as the application of new underwater paint.
Over 500 members of the A&P workforce and supply chain worked around the clock to support this project, including 32 apprentices who gained valuable experience working on the Bolette. This is the second time in 12 months that Fred. Olsen has chosen A&P Falmouth as the docking facility, with their fellow ship Balmoral completing a similar programme of work in May last year.
Mike Spicer, Managing Director of A&P Falmouth, expressed his delight at welcoming the Bolette to the facility and showcasing their capabilities. He believes that contracts like these significantly contribute to the prosperity of the South West and help support their workforce and apprenticeship programme. David Mc Ginley, CEO, also mentioned that projects like these sustain their workforce, apprenticeship programme, and supply chain, which drive prosperity and add real social value to the South West of England.
