Carnival Cruise Line reaches major milestone as first cruise company to welcome 100 million guests

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Carnival Cruise Line made history by becoming the first company in the industry to welcome 100 million passengers since its establishment in 1972. Debbie and David Clifford from Ohio were the 100 millionth guests and boarded Carnival Sunrise with their family on Friday. Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy personally greeted passengers boarding at PortMiami, where the cruise line was founded and thanked them for choosing Carnival as the world's most popular cruise line.

Passengers joining the cruise were invited to take part in the festivities with special photos commemorating the achievement, highlighting that each Carnival passenger is ‘One in 100 Million’. The milestone of 100 million guests is a significant achievement, representing a larger population than the combined populations of Australia, Canada, and Panama. Additionally, there were 167 super cruisers who have sailed on 100-plus Carnival cruises.

Ms Duffy acknowledged that reaching the 100 million-guest milestone is a testament to the fun, inclusive atmosphere that guests and team members have created on board their ships for the past 51 years. Carnival Cruise Line plans to continue growing its operations, with three new ships joining its fleet by the spring of next year. The new Carnival Celebration has already embarked on her first few months sailing from Miami, and Carnival Venezia will debut in May, offering all-new ‘Carnival Fun Italian Style’ experiences and expanding the cruise line’s New York offerings from seasonal to year-round.

Later this year, Carnival Jubilee, a third sister ship to Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, will join the fleet and sail from Galveston, Texas. In the 2024 Northern Hemisphere spring, Carnival Firenze, sister ship to Carnival Venezia, will begin year-round cruises from Long Beach, California. There is much more fun to come, and Carnival Cruise Line is excited to continue providing unforgettable experiences for its guests.
