World Voyager To Leave Nicko Cruises Fleet

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Nicko Cruises announced temporarily withdraw from the expedition cruise market by handing over the World Voyager, its only expedition cruise ship, to its sister company Atlas Ocean Voyages. The handover is set to take place in September 2023. Nicko Cruises cites an inability to meet the minimum required number of participants for World Voyager's sailings as a reason for this decision. Mystic Holding, the joint parent company of Nicko Cruises and Atlas Ocean Voyages, sees the move as a strategic decision to target the American market.

To mark the end of Nicko Cruises' operation of the World Voyager, a farewell cruise has been scheduled to coincide with the Hamburg Cruise Days, which will take place from September 9th to 13th, 2023. After this, the ship will transition to its new owners.

Nicko Cruises initially entered the German expedition cruise market with the World Explorer in 2019 before switching to the World Voyager in 2021 for special expedition character sailings.

Nicko Cruises will focus more intently on its remaining ocean-going ship, the Vasco da Gama.
