
For some, the idea to go naked in front of people is a nightmare for others is an ideal holiday to go on nudist cruise. In recent years, more and more resorts and agencies provide vacations for nudists and most popular is the nudist cruise. For many, however, this is still a taboo. The director of Bare Necessities, Nancy Tienman, organized cruises for nudists in the last 25 years, debunks myths and reveals the naked truth behind these original holiday.
Myth 1: Only hippies go to such vacation
People takeing these cruises are of all ages and walks of life. While Bare Necessities has 18+ age limit most of the customers are from 30-70 years old.
Myth 2: People will judge me for my body
The nudists are much less critical, since you do not wear clothes to categorize. As explains Nancy "wearing only a hat and slippers you can not distinguish director from a housewife"
Myth 3: The "newcomers" ashamed
Most people who go on such cruises make nudism years, either on beaches or in hotels, so before deciding to pay for such a cruise is quite familiar.
Myth 4: It has a sexual background
This is a cruise like any other except that it has (un) dress code. Otherwise there is nothing "strange" to it.
Myth 5: It is for swingers
The swingers exchange partners has no relation to the nudism, although many have combined the subconscious. 99% of couples who go on such cruises are in a stable relationship. Indeed, no specific staff explains and prevents those who have sexual interest in these cruises.
Myth 6: Naked photos
There are several points to the ship, where the photographs are prohibited for those who wish to find themselves naked in the background of a family photograph.
Myth 7: Men may have an unwanted erection
Most carry a towel with them to the pool and the deck and so disguise or hide such a phenomenon, it will be easier than you think. Alternatively, there is always a quick dip in the pool or a cold shower in the room.
Myth 8: We will be naked all the time
passengers cant be naked until the cruise ship reach international waters and the captain announce that the clothes can be removed. There is also a dress code in the formal dining room, which requires at least a t-shirt and shorts. Those who wish to remain naked throughout their journey, they can eat in less formal areas which do not impose a dress code.
Myth 9: It's not healthy to sit on chairs
Towels are necessary before sitting down anywhere. Indeed, the staff has also towels for those who do not have their own.
Myth 10: You feel uncomfortable with the staff
The staff is dressed and has been selected and carefully trained before nudist enter the ship.
