A new legend has officially arrived.
In a celebration filled with excitement, pride, and anticipation for the future of cruising, Royal Caribbean officially took delivery of Legend of the Seas on June 10 at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.
More than 1,200 guests, executives, shipbuilders, partners, and crew members gathered beneath the spectacular glass dome of the AquaDome for the handover ceremony, marking the completion of a remarkable two-year construction journey.
But while the spotlight was firmly on the ship's attractions, Crew Center is taking readers beyond the guest experience with exclusive photos from the crew areas, offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at the floating city that thousands of crew members will soon call home.
Exclusive Bellow the Decks Crew-Only
Long before the first guests step aboard, crew members are already settling into life on Royal Caribbean's newest flagship.
Our exclusive images reveal some of the dedicated spaces designed for the international workforce. From modern crew lounges and dining venues to recreation spaces and work areas, the ship has been designed to support the thousands of women and men who keep the operation running 24 hours a day.

While passengers will enjoy waterslides, entertainment, restaurants, and ocean views, it is these behind-the-scenes spaces where friendships are formed, careers are built, and daily life at sea unfolds.

For many crew members joining the vessel ahead of launch, this moment represents the beginning of a new adventure aboard one of the most anticipated cruise ships in the world.

A Giant Among Giants
At an astonishing 248,663 gross tons and measuring 1,196 feet in length, Legend of the Seas is among the largest cruise ships ever constructed.
The vessel follows the enormous success of Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, continuing Royal Caribbean's mission to push the boundaries of what a cruise vacation can be.
Guests can expect:
- 28 dining experiences across the ship
- Seven pools and water attractions
- The adrenaline-pumping Crown's Edge attraction
- New entertainment productions, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- The spectacular AquaDome neighborhood
- Luxury accommodations, including the three-level Ultimate Family Townhouse
Powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), Legend of the Seas also represents another step forward in Royal Caribbean's evolving environmental strategy.
The Journey Isn't Over Yet
Although ownership has now officially transferred to Royal Caribbean, the ship's journey is not quite complete.
In the coming days, Legend of the Seas will depart Finland and sail to Cadiz, Spain, where final preparations, provisioning, crew familiarization, and finishing touches will take place before welcoming her first guests.
The countdown is now officially underway.
Mediterranean Debut Before Caribbean Adventure
The excitement begins this month when Legend of the Seas launches her inaugural season in the Mediterranean, sailing seven-night voyages from Rome and Barcelona to some of Europe's most sought-after destinations, including Marseille, Palma de Mallorca, and La Spezia.
Later this year, the ship will cross the Atlantic and make Fort Lauderdale her winter home, offering six-, seven-, and eight-night Caribbean voyages that include visits to Royal Caribbean's award-winning private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
A New Chapter for Royal Caribbean
The delivery of Legend of the Seas is more than the arrival of a new ship. It is another milestone in Royal Caribbean's ambitious Icon Class expansion.
Construction is already underway on the next vessel in the series, Hero of the Seas, while additional Icon-class ships are planned through 2030.
For now, however, the spotlight belongs to Legend of the Seas.
