The Bahamas’ beloved Half Moon Cay is getting a serious makeover and a fresh new name: RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay. Holland America Line and Carnival Cruise Line just spilled the tea on this major rebranding, and it’s all about upgrading the island vibes while keeping that pristine tropical paradise energy.
The Glow-Up: Beaches, Bars, and a Pier for the Big Ships
Say goodbye to tender boats and hello to effortless docking! A brand-new pier on the north side means Carnival’s massive Excel-class ships can finally roll up to the party. And that’s just the start. RelaxAway promises expanded beachfront bliss, fresh lunch venues, island-chic bars, and lounging spots that scream “vacation goals.”
But wait, there’s more—guests will be greeted at stylish welcome plazas on both the north and south sides of the island. While the south side gets a Bahamian touch-up with a beach club and spruced-up facilities, the north side will debut two new lunch spots and a tram service to whisk you around in style. Don’t forget the cabanas and new excursion pier to level up your adventure game!
“Holland America guests have adored Half Moon Cay since 1997, and we’re keeping that secluded paradise vibe alive while making it even better,” said Holland America Line president Beth Bodensteiner. Christine Duffy, Carnival Cruise Line’s big boss, chimed in, “We’re creating not just one, but TWO dreamy Bahamian escapes with RelaxAway and Celebration Key. It’s ultimate beach day goals!”
