Submitted by kgnadmin on

Italian Customs in coordination with Anti-Fraud Office of the Territorial Directorate of Lazio and Abruzzo conducted inspections on several passenger ships and seized slot machines in the port of Civitavecchia belonging to several shipping companies.

Some devices, which had expired authorizations for commissioning, and others without the necessary authorizations, were seized and left in custody. The administrative sanctions for the irregularities found amount to approximately 9 thousand euros.

The operation is part of the control activities on passenger liners, with national routes or ships flying the Italian flag in line with foreign ports, and on ships with regional routes.

The checks on entertainment devices, carried out in two different periods, involved a total of nine passenger ships.

The operation aimed to ensure legality in the gaming sector, protecting both businesses and consumers from potential fraud or regulatory violations. By seizing unauthorized gaming machines, authorities sought to uphold compliance with licensing and operational standards, ensuring fair practices in line with the law.
